Restoration

We have proven expertise in all aspects of Land Rover restoration and can restore your Defender back to factory original or a modern enhanced specification better suited to current road conditions.

Upgrades

The basis of the Kingsley re-engineered Defender models, we can incorporate upgrades to improve performance, comfort, aesthetics and reliability with standards of finish meeting todays customer's demanding expectations.

Body and Chassis

Employing modern construction and galvanisation techniques to ensure that the longevity of any body or chassis restoration work we undertake, is of a vastly superior standard to those of the original vehicles - substantiated by a 15 year warranty.

Powertrain

We offer a range of powertrain options from our hand-built Kingsley Rover V8's from 4.0 litres right up to Chevrolet 6.2 V8 matched to various manual or 8 speed automatic transmissions with running gear to suit.

Braking and suspension

Our big brake kits provide stopping power way outside the capabilities of the standard offerings and we offer a range of state of the art suspension packages tailored to your vehicle with heavy duty drivelines to effectively put the power down.

Interior

All elements of the interior inside your defender can be trimmed in materials of your choice, with enhancements such as bespoke cabinets built to your requirements. Fitment of modern effective HVACS, means your Defender will keep you cool or warm in any conditions.

Cosmetic extras

We can tailor your Defender to look exactly how you envision, ranging from an infinite range of body and trim colour combinations, fitment of a range of wheel and tyre combinations, adding a panoramic roof, to the incorporation of a full expedition kit. - even if your vehicle mainly operates in an urban commuter capacity.

Servicing

As well as building custom Land Rover Defender models from the ground up, our workshop team are equipped with all of the latest Land Rover diagnostic equipment and offer servicing and maintenance programs for all models of Land Rover. Our experienced workshop staff can often fix and repair many faulty components, an increasingly rare skill in many modern franchised workshops!

Chassis repair and swaps

The backbone of your Defender, we can usually undertake full chassis changes in 10 days on a drive-in/drive-out basis. We also can undertake the rear 1/3 of a chassis replacement and use the best components from Marsland chassis. Prior to completion we inject wax into all the internal cavities of both the new repair section and the original part of the chassis to inhibit future corrosion.

MOT testing

As a DVSA approved class 4 test centre, here at Kingsley we can provide full MOT testing services for your Land Rover. Additionally with our workshops on site, we can undertake repair work before or after your MOT test ensuring that in the event of a test failure, your Land Rover can be repaired quickly and efficiently with an accurate understanding of what repair work is required to pass the test.

Inspections

If you are looking at buying a donor vehicle to be transformed into a Kingsley Defender or simply want proven Land Rover expertise to evaluate your Land Rover purchase from a private vendor or from a non-specialist dealer, we can provide a detailed report following a thorough inspection from one of our senior technicians. If you want to make an informed decision on your purchase, this is money well spent!

Land Rover purchase and sales

We are always looking for good examples of Land Rover Defenders to purchase for stock or as donor vehicles for our Kingsley Defender conversions. Additionally if your Defender is a really special example we can in certain cases offer a sales consignment service - providing a strong marketing platform for your Defender - subject to inspection.
